Amazon has hired Craig Sullivan as creative director at its Game Studios division, the company announced today. Sullivan was previously creative director at Ghost Games, which worked on the Need for Speed series at Electronic Arts.

Sullivan’s two decades of work in the video game industry also includes Criterion’s Burnout series and first-person shooter Black.

Amazon said that Sullivan is “diving into new projects with several Amazon studios” but did not specify which games he was attached to. The company promises “more in the months ahead.”

“I couldn’t be more excited to join the super talented team at Amazon Game Studios,” Sullivan said in a news release. “From my very first contact, it has been obvious that Amazon is serious about making cutting-edge, innovative experiences for players around the world. Twitch, AWS, and Lumberyard are just the tip of the iceberg in terms of the tools we have as creators at Amazon, and I can’t wait to share our vision with players.”

Amazon Game Studios is currently working on a handful of announced projects, including Breakaway, a four-on-four mythical sports brawler; massively multiplayer sandbox game New World; and sci-fi survival game Crucible, which is being helmed by ex-EA/Westwood Studios veteran Louis Castle. Amazon is also working on an unannounced project with EverQuest co-creator John Smedley.
