Square Enix and PlatinumGames will release an add-on for Nier: Automata next month that adds new costumes, three new battle colosseums and the option to fight the presidents of Square Enix and PlatinumGames.
Nier: Automata’s “3C3C1D119440927” downloadable content includes costumes for androids 2B, 9S and A2 that reference the original Japanese release, Nier: Replicant. 2B can dress up as the original Nier’s Kaine, while 9S receives a younger Nier costume and A2 gets an outfit based on the older version of Nier.
Other cosmetics coming in the “3C3C1D119440927” DLC include hairspray that lets player change 2B and A2’s hair color and new masks. There’s even a cosmetic effect for enemy bullets.
Speaking of bullets, the presidents of Square Enix and PlatinumGames, Yosuke Matsuda and Kenichi Sato, can be fought in the DLC’s new colosseum, and they shoot their heads at you. Here’s a look at that immersion-breaking battle.
In addition to the new colosseums, Square Enix promises additional sub-quests that can earn players some of the previously mentioned cosmetic rewards.
Nier: Automata’s “3C3C1D119440927” DLC will be released for the PlayStation 4 and Windows PC game “soon,” according to a press release from Square Enix. During a Japanese-language livestream earlier today, Square Enix announced a May 2 release date and 1,500 yen price point, though it’s not clear whether the same date applies for North America and Europe.
In the meantime, you can check out a batch of screenshots and costume artwork for Nier: Automata’s “3C3C1D119440927” DLC in the gallery below. The gallery includes a peek at a 2B costume for Gravity Rush 2’s Kat, which commemorates Nier: Automata’s sales milestone of 1 million copies.
