Strange Brigade, a period-piece adventure from Rebellion, makers of the Sniper Elite franchise, is “coming soon,” to PlayStation 4, Windows PC and Xbox One, says the studio.
Rebellion announced the game this morning with the trailer above. It's set in the 1930s and employs the cliffhanger motifs of serial adventure movies around that time.
The Strange Brigade, apparently a military unit in the twilight of the British Empire, investigate unusual disturbances in remote locations, cleaning out the undead and occasional minotaur. The action style is third-person shooter.
"There are remote corners of the British Empire where the supernatural lurks and the shadows linger, where few dare go and fewer return," reads the game's promotional copy. "In Strange Brigade, you'll encounter fantastic and forgotten civilizations shrouded in mystery, uncover treacherous tombs and test your wits against unfathomable foes."
Strange Brigade's logo is reminiscent of the Sniper Elite badge but it appears this is a separate title. Rebellion has done Zombie Army spinoffs of the Sniper Elite franchise before, launching the Zombie Army Trilogy by itself back in 2015 about a year after Sniper Elite 3’s launch. Sniper Elite 4 launched in February and there have been no Zombie Army plans announced for it yet.
More news on the game will come out of E3 next week, Rebellion says.
