CBS has released the first look at Star Trek: Discovery, with a focus on the female characters that will lead the series.
The photo, seen below, stars Michelle Yeoh as Captain Philippa Georgiou and Sonequa Martin-Green as First Officer Michael Burnham. Although Yeoh is the Captain, former showrunner Bryan Fuller confirmed last year that the show wouldn’t make her the main character. Instead, Discovery will follow First Officer Michael Burnham and the different journeys she embarks on around the universe.

The planet that both characters are on in the photo has yet to be revealed, but more information is expected to be released soon as CBS carries on its day of press conferences for upcoming series this fall.
The photo doesn’t include any of the other cast members, but CBS has slowly been revealing the names of various actors joining Discovery. Jason Isaacs, James Frain, Sarek, Doug Jones and Anthony Rapp will also star.
Star Trek: Discovery will reportedly premiere later this year.
