A 30-second advertisement for Star Wars Battlefront 2 appears to have leaked online.
The short video, which features Sony PlayStation branding, begins its narrative at the end of Star Wars: Return of the Jedi with a group of high-ranking TIE fighter pilots standing on the forest moon of Endor. In the distance, the second Death Star explodes. The voiceover comes from a female pilot, who is reminiscing about the day that Emperor Palpatine was killed.
“I still remember my last orders,” she says, “the day the real war began. ‘Avenge our Emperor!’”
There are scenes of Imperial assets flying through a field of wreckage, which may be the ruins of the second Death Star. A tagline reads, “The untold soldier’s story,” before an image of the First Order base from Star Wars: The Force Awakens flashes on screen.
The big surprise comes in the second half of the short commercial, which features cameos by Darth Maul, Yoda, Rey and Kylo Ren.
At the end of the video, there is mention of a pre-order featuring heroes from the upcoming film Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
Polygon expects more information to come from Star Wars Celebration happening this weekend in Orlando, Florida.
